Obstacle, Fitness and Endurance Races to Look Forward to in 2017
If you’re the outdoors type who enjoys running, cycling, hiking or swimming rather than indoor gyms you’re going to be extremely happy to know that there will be plenty going on in 2017 when it comes to fitness events. There will be plenty of outdoorsy happenings to be looking forward to, from the very known challenges to the less known but definitely worth checking out. Here’s the list of what we’re considering signing up for:
With various locations all across the UK (and the world), Tough Mudder must be one of the most famous obstacle races out there. It will take you through over 20 obstacles on a 10 to 12 mile stretch. If you’re up to it, you can also take part in Toughest Mudder or you can join a Half race if you feel that you’re not quite prepared.
There will be a Tough Mudder Half in April in London and in the Midlands in May, a Tough Mudder in London and Midlands in May, Scotland in June and Yorkshire in July.

The first Snowdonia Marathon took place in 1982, and the idea behind it was to be an alternative to the popular city and town races. With a challenging yet spectacular route, encircling Snowdon, it is surely a unique place for a marathon.
The Brooks Snowdonia Marathon has been voted best British marathon twice.
All profits are donated to local community projects.

A race loved by the CrossFit community but unfortunately sold out for England for 2017. You can still take part in Portugal or Norway.
Wild Mud Run
If swampy terrain and obstacle races get your blood pumping then this one is for you. Water slides and mud? Sign us up! First one of 2017 will take place in the Midland on the 1st April.

Obstacle courses in lovely venues, this is the way to describe the Total Warrior race. With more than 20k people taking place in this year’s challenges, 2017 looks promising and we hope you will be determined enough as this promises to challenge your strength and stamina. Another positive alongside the lovely settings? That you can choose to compete solo or as part of a team.

Rat Race 2017
With various locations across the country and two types of challenges (endurance races and adventure runs) Rat Race offers something for everyone.
It’s definitely the kind of event that needs considering especially because it offers loads of variety across the whole of the UK. From Scotland’s Coast to Coast race to London’s Rat Race and Snowdonia’s Man vs Mountain, we’re sure you’ll challenge yourself to the max.

26 years and counting! Awarded the BTF’s ‘Event of the Year’ a remarkable seven times, the Windsor Triathlon is one of the best Olympic distance triathlons in the UK. The triathlon celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2015, and has stood the test of time with its quality delivery, stunning location and great event village.

For the super athlete souls out there, Ironman is probably one of the most famous triathlons there is. It takes place year round all over the world and is one of the most pricey ones as well.

Virgin Money London Marathon
The London Marathon has come a long way since its beginning in the 80’s. It’s a massive event that bring together a massive crowd who raise so much money for charity. Still, that doesn’ t mean that you have to take it lightly, it requires you to train ahead and raise money for charity.
