This Circuit Instructor Course is available to existing personal trainers and fitness (gym) instructors who wish to deliver Circuit Training sessions.
This Circuit Instructor course is offered as a blended learning package and can be completed via distance learning with a one day attendance workshop.
Circuit Instructor Course Objectives:

Planning and minimizing risk to include the Code of Ethics, Health and Safety Policies and Individual Goals and Objectives

Gathering and Analyzing information from your group

Selecting Objectives for a circuit training session

Selecting and preparing equipment for a circuit training session - including kettle bells, buso balls, power bags etc

Prepare to Instruct a circuit session

Instructing a circuit session and how to improve individual performance

Circuit session structure and content to include a warm up, main CV training component, MSE, cool down and stretching

Ending a session and gathering feedback

Evaluating a Circuit Training Session to Develop Personal Coaching practice
Linked to the following National Occupational Standards:
- D410 Plan and prepare a gym based exercise session
- D411 Instructing a gym based exercise session
- D414 Plan and prepare a group exercise to music session
- D415 Instruct a group exercise to music session
- D416 Evaluating coaching sessions and developing personal coaching practice
Circuit Training Course content:
The circuit training course will develop students to a competent and confident level to plan and instruct circuit based group sessions, covering subjects including:
- How to plan, teach and evaluate a safe and effective circuit training session
- Appropriate health & safety considerations
- Circuit training approaches & techniques
- How to set up a circuit based class
This circuit training course is mapped towards the National Occupational standards Units D414 and D415.
The Circuit Instructor course price includes:

Entry requirements:
Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Gym Aqua or Exercise to Music).Writing and numeracy skills are also required for presentation of course work. Minimum age 16
This Circuit Training course is for:
Fitness professionals (personal Trainer, aerobics and gym instructors) looking to develop their teaching portfolio and add diversify into the popular field of circuit training, and for those people currently using circuit training as a fitness training tool but without formal circuit qualification. By the end of the circuit instructor course students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology, plan and instruct safe and effective circuit based sessions, provide advice on physical activity and demonstrate knowledge of health and safety in a circuit training environment.
Circuit Training Course format:
- Total hours of Study: 22 hours
- 2 weeks home study (7 hours) followed by
- One day tutorials and practical workshops (8 hours)
