This level 3 sports massage course has been designed to provide learners with the requisite knowledge, understanding and skills to work in an unsupervised capacity as a sports massage practitioner.

It can effectively deal with a variety of musculoskeletal problems, it will aid recovery, reduce symptoms/pain and improve sporting performance. Most sports massage therapists are self employed, this enables a therapist to effectively treat a wide range of clients from different backgrounds. This qualification will complement a personal trainer’s career, offering another service and expertise to the personal trainers clientele base.
The role of a sports massage therapist is to provide a professional service to all clients, this will include a client assessment/consultation, sports massage treatment and soft tissue techniques and post treatment advice.
This course will develop the learner’s skills, competency, knowledge and application in Sports Massage Therapy. The course content includes:

Sports Massage Course Format
The Sports Massage Therapy Course is a part time course and consists of 4 weeks home study followed by 4 weekends spread over 4 months (1 weekend per month). We can accept late bookings on this course but you must first speak to an advisor to ensure that you can spend the time to catch up on the home study component.
Sports Massage Pre-requisite:
The learners must be adults (18 plus).
There are no entry requirements, however the course does require some physical activity, so learners must be fit and healthy. The course will include discussions, presentations, reading and writing so learner should have these basic requirements.

- Theory exams (multi choice)
- Practical assessment
Sports Massage Course REPs points:
The Sports Massage Therapy Course carries 20 REPs points upon completion of the course. Students will only receive these points however as long as they are already registered on the REPs register. Students will not be able to gain entry on to REPs with this course alone.
