Become an Aerobics Instructor
An Aerobics instructor is the backbone of the fitness industry and a very rewarding and sociable role. Many aerobics instructors stay in the fitness industry for many years and make many friends and professional connections as a result of their work.
To become an aerobics instructor you will need a REPs level 2 Exercise to Music Qualification to gain your licence to teach aerobics classes. Most of the Aerobics Instructor jobs are self employed and most instructors cover classes at a variety of clubs. Therefore, it is important to gain qualifications in a number of low and high impact classes to ensure you fill your hours up and meet the demand of the club. A typical aerobics instructor will also gain qualifications and teaching skills in a number of types of classes, ranging from Indoor Cycling, step, Circuit Training to Kettlebells and Mixed Martial Arts.
Additional to your REPs accredited qualification you will need a First Aid Certificate, PPL Licence and insurance before you can teach aerobics classes. Our careers advisors are available to answer any questions you have on 0208 543 1017.
